[T.J. Larkin, 104 New Bond Street, London] An ancient Chinese Bronze Vase of extremely fine quality. Quadrangular, with neck curving slightly outwards, standing on four small figures representing winged monsters. The decoration consists of a series of panels containing variously archaic bird-like monsters and the T'ao T'ieh (gluttonous ogre), finely inlaid, with gold and silver on a key-pattern ground. On the shoulders are four monster heads in full relief. Extremely fine patina. Period, Sung, 960-1280. Height, 14 ins.
