This life-size model of an Eagle is poised on a natural piece of wood resembling the gladstone, on which this species usually alight. The attitude of the bird is most life-like, and each feather is faithfully executed. The feet are of gilt bronze. Measurements: from tip to tip of wings 4 ft. 2½ in., extreme height, including stand, 4 ft. 9½ in., and extreme width 2 ft. 2 in. The entire work is executed by the celebrated artist Mitsu-Wo.

Every feather in this beautiful model is faithfully executed, and the poise of the bird is most lifelike. In one claw it is holding a snake which it has captured on emerging from the trunk of a tree, on which the bird is resting. The snake and the trunk of the tree are finely modelled in bronze. Extreme height 17 in. Base measurement: depth 10 in., width 8¼ in.

The body is of Shakudo or gold bronze, relieved with panels in gold lac decorated with mother-o'-pearl, etc., each with a different design. The base, neck, cover, bird, and dragons are all of finely-wrought silver. This piece is signed with a gold seal, and is a meritorious work of art. Supported on a handsome carved wood stand. Measurements: height of koro 12¼ in., width from head to head of dragon 10¼ in., width at base 6 in. by 5 in. Stand height 4$frac{3}{4}$ in., base 8 in. by 7 in.

Height 2 ft. 11 in., width across handles 2 ft. 9 in., base 18 in. by 19 in. A pair of exceptionally fine and important old Chinese Cloissonné Vases, XVIth Century, decorated on turquoise blue ground, with conventional floral design in various colors. Handles of rich gilt metal. Total height of vase with stand 20 in., diameter of body 18 in., width of mouth 9½ in. Supported on handsomely carved black wood stands.

A square-shaped Koro or Incense Burner of beautiful repoussé work in high relief, having on either side a panel exquisitely inlaid with mother-o'-pearl, coral, tortoiseshell, etc., in floral designs, supported on either side with finely wrought dragons, also of silver. The cover, which is surmounted by the figure of the God of Learning seated on a mythological animal, is encircled with a delicate tracery of silver, which is enamelled in various brilliant colors. The base, neck, and top flanges are similarly treated. Extreme height without stand is 11in., extreme width 8½ in., width of base 5½ in.
