[The Vincent Robinson Galleries. 34 Wigmore Street, London, W. (A) Shaped Spandrel of Enamelled Tiles from Talar-i-Tavileh (the Royal Stables) of Shah Abbas (1587-1628 A.D.) at Ispahan. This spandrel depicts the story of Yusuf and Zuleika, known respectively to the Western student of the Old Testament as Joseph and Potiphar's wife. The design, which curiously great exactitude on either side, is carried out on the incised tiles in enamels of turquoise, yellow, and manganese on a rich shaded blue ground with turquoise border. Size: 5ft. by 12ft 3ins.]

[The Vincent Robinson Galleries. 34 Wigmore Street, London, W. (B) Mihrab, or Prayer' Niche, Measuring 5ft. by 2 ft. 3ins., from an Imamzadeh at Kum. It is formed of two large tiles moulded in relief and decorated in lustre of turquoise blue and brown. The design is that of a broken arch springing from an inscription and capped by a broken circle; from the centre hangs a lamp. The ground, both within and without the arch, is covered by inscriptions from verses of the Koran, those in the spandrels being in Kufic. It is signed by the artist, Ali Ibn Muhammed, and dated 663 of the Hegira (1265 A.D.). Floral scrolls and golden lustre form the ground of the spandrels. This Mihrab, together with several other pieces from the same collection, formed part of the Exhibition of Persian Art which was held at the Burlington Fine Art Club in 1907.]
