A unique specimen of the finest quality; the stock, which is of walnut, is richly inlaid with silver in partly floral scroll design, male figure with hands corded behind his back, implements of war, chased heads, warlike scenes, dolphin's head with long tail, a small coat of arms (crown below coronet supported by two female figures), carved wood masks on either side, and serpent with foliage coming from mouth. Along the barrel appears the name, F. MADDOCK, CASTEL YARDE, DUBLIN, and below the lock, F. MADDOCK. The steel barrel, which is beautifully chased, is 42½ inches in length.
