In This one, a Battleship Flying the Dutch Flag Has Dropped Anchor in Front of the Bastion Defending the Access to the Harbour. In the Foreground, a Launch is Nearing the Shore to Load the Bales Brought by Eastern Merchants. To a Refined Sense of Harmony in the Colours is Added a Rigorous Technique, Perceptible in the Precision of the Detail.

[Miodrag Boskovitch, 5 Avenue Louise/13-15 rue Ravenstein, Brussels] Bona Venture Peeters, Antwerp 1614 - Hoboken 1652. The Estuary. Wood, 17½ × 29½ ins., signed and dated 1650. A Master at twenty, this prolific artist was the best Mannerist painter of the Flemish school. In all his interpretations he knew how to convey a real poetical intensity.
