Although unmarked, this decanter is typically Irish in its light moulded base, fluting and three feather-edged neck rings. The engraved ship is contemporary, as is the mushroom moulded stopper - c.1815. This very fine walnut 'lowboy' is from the Queen Anne period, about 1710. It is a good example of the most sought-after type of low-boy, having good golden colour, well proportioned cabriole legs, and a pretty 'apron'. A silver seal box engraved with the Royal Coat of Arms of George III Made in London, in 1790 by William Pitts.
