Roti. The scene depicts part of the process of delivering tea to the Chinese warehouse at Canton. Within the footrim is the number 19. This tureen is part of a series with the same rare border. Plates with number 11, 12, 13, 21, 23, and a tureen with the same number 19, but with red decoration added in Holland are previously known. Cf. Roth, Stig: Chinese Porcelain imported by the Swedish East India Company, Göteborg 1965, and the similarity with the more elaborate border used by the Swedish Trade Councillor Anders Nordencrantz, ennobled 1743, plate 11.
