Caravan was owned by Lord Suffield from 1837 to 1838, Captain Berkeley in 1839 and Mr Isaac Day from 1839 to 1841 for whom the picture may have been commissioned after Caravan won the Tradesman's Cup at Gloucester in 1840 with John Day, Jnr. up
